In 2022 UNICEF Brazil’s WASH actions had an impact on around 2 million people (46% of them children), focusing on behaviour change initiatives for handwashing, at Legal Amazon Territory (TAM) and Brazilian Semi-Arid (SAB). In addition, over 160,000 children have benefited from improved WASH facilities in over more 500 schools across 35 municipalities, including more than 63,000 women and girls with access to menstrual hygiene services. This document highlights the main strategies and actions developed by the UNICEF Brazil WASH team and its partners in 2022.
