About Diagnostics

47% of the global population has little to no access to diagnostics while 81% of people in low and low-middle income countries do not have access to testing, other than HIV and malaria.  Diagnostics – tests that detect and monitor diseases, conditions and infections – are essential to improving health for people around the world. Testing is crucial in reducing the spread of diseases and providing appropriate treatment, and testing before treatment is key to saving lives and using health resources optimally.

See below key resources developed by UNICEF on diagnostics, including the HIV Point of Care Diagnostic Toolkit and the Let’s Test Advocacy Toolkit.
