The document was an invitation to a roundtable on Dialogue with Civil Society Organizations on Innovative Financing to achieve the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which took place on 30 March 2022.

The roundtable aimed to share the experiences and challenges of civil society organizations (CSOs) working on FGM prevention and response in different regions and contexts, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The roundtable also aimed to explore the potential and feasibility of innovative financing mechanisms for FGM, such as development impact bonds, co-funding, funding pools, debt swap, and gender levy.

The roundtable featured presentations from CSOs from Europe, US, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, as well as experts from UNICEF, World Bank, and Wallace Global Fund.

The roundtable included a panel discussion and a Q&A session with the speakers and the participants.

The roundtable was part of a series of international stakeholder dialogues on FGM organized by UNICEF, UNFPA, and UN Women, in collaboration with the Donor Working Group on FGM.

The document provided the agenda, the speakers’ bios, and the links to the previous dialogues on FGM in emergency and humanitarian contexts, and on gender transformative approaches to ending FGM.
