The significance of evidence in nutrition programmes cannot be emphasized enough. It is crucial to use evidence-based approaches when developing, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of nutrition interventions. The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) conducted by the Government of India provides valuable information about the nutritional status of the Indian population, with a specific focus on women and children. It examines various indicators such as the prevalence of stunting, wasting, anaemia and breastfeeding practices. By analysing this data, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) through its POSHAN initiative has created Data Notes that present the information in an easy-to-understand format using data visualization techniques. These four new Data Notes help identify specific geographical or thematic concerns related to nutrition in India. By delving into the data obtained from NFHS-4 and NFHS-5, these documents provide important insights for addressing nutrition-related issues in the country
